About
The Artisan Painter is a painting & decorating company based in Stoke Abbott near Beaminster in Dorset. My father Roy Clements was a professional painter for over 30 years and I have kept the trade in the family. I served an apprenticeship with my father and have since been painting professionally in the trade for over 20 years.
I have a degree in Design from Goldsmiths University and also an HND in Photography from The Arts University in Bournemouth. Working in design and photography I have developed a keen eye for colour and interior design. The Artisan Painter honours the old traditions of fine brush skills, wallpapering and painting techniques. I take great pride and put a lot of love into my work. The finish is paramount for me and this involves a great dedication to the initial preparation before the painting even commences.
Although The Artisan Painter takes on any type of painting project, I specialise in painting heritage properties having had extensive experience painting with Limewash and highly breathable paints.

Jude has completed work on the outside of my house at Southfield Mill. He painted numerous windows as well as the doors and drainpipes. His preparation was thorough and his finish superb. He used a cherry picker which he operated with due regard for his own safety as well as that of bystanders. An excellent job, I can highly recommend Jude!

We have a large 1930s house which had recently been re-plastered. Jude did an excellent job painting nearly all of it. It was a large project and I am overjoyed with the result.
